I love this quote by Edith Wharton – it’s how I feel about my dogs. Brutus, our beautiful boy, left us today; his battle with cancer is finally over and he is resting peacefully.

Here he is at Brighton Beach guarding his tennis ball – he loved tennis balls almost as much as he loved chocolate and Schmackos.  He loved going to the beach  or the park as they were a place just bursting with heaps of friends he was yet to meet.  He adopted any puppies that he felt needed protection, whether they wanted it or not.  When she arrived, he adopted the newest member of our family, Roxy, immediately and taught her all there was to learn in the art of tennis ball chasing and rope-tugging. Once they had met, they were inseparable.  There is a very large space on the bean bag tonight.

Rest peacefully our beautiful boy – you will be missed.
