It’s been a while, but I’ve been Crafting Away . . .

. . in Maffra. Wow, what a day we had!  With big thanks to my dear friend Georgina and her expertise in balloonology, we had smiling faces greeting people at the gate as they arrived with streamers fluttering in the breeze letting people know that there was fun to be had inside! A great big plate of freshly baked scones with jam and cream was for morning tea and then we set off on our Craft Away Day.

Loads of stamping, lots of glitter, many prizes and a groaning table of goodies to be eaten!  We raised over $1100 to be donated to the Hazel Hawke Research and Care Fund.  I would like to give a  big round of applause to the ladies of Maffra, Stratford, Drouin and Bairnsdale that came along and helped make it such a great day, they were so generous with their giving, their friendship and hugs.

A very big thank you has to go to my mum for her PR work getting the word out and about and organising all the tickets. And I can’t forget Stampin Up!, for the wonderfully generous donation of goodies to be raffled (look at that table above!). We raised over $1100 at last count and there are still a few more donations to come in too! If you feel that you’ve missed out, please go to my EveryDay Hero web page http://www.everydayhero.com.au/Aides_de_memoire to make a tax deductible donation.  :)

By the end of the day the place was buzzing (some from too much coffee) and there was a general feeling of warmth amongst all that attended.  I think I managed to hug nearly everyone as they left! There were some new friendships made and many requests for another day. I better start planning!

Now back to normal programming!
